The Rathbun Center is a nonprofit organization that provides lodging and other supportive services in a “home like” environment, free of charge, for patients and/or their caregivers coming to Asheville for medical treatments. The beautiful 30,000 square-foot facility, which looks like a sprawling Victorian home, is located on a 17-acre tract of wooded forest in Kenilworth, near the hospitals. This “house with a heart” has welcomed over 19,000 families from all over the world since we opened in 1994. The Rathbun Center offers a tranquil, caring atmosphere for families going through a medical crisis.

Mission Children’s Hospital is delighted to host Asheville Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours. You will be joining us at our Reuter Children’s Outpatient Center, a building that was designed to make kids and families feel welcome, safe and at home. It’s a place filled each day with kids who are happy, smiling and inquisitive despite the life-threatening and chronic conditions that bring them to us for care.

Many of our kids’ families face financial hardships. This year is especially difficult, which may mean no holiday treats for some. If you are able to bring an unwrapped, new item we will match your gift to a needy newborn, toddler, adolescent or teen. See attached list of needs.
