Event Description:
For more than 150 years the YMCA of Western North Carolina has provided a safe caring environment, positive role models, creative activities, and the opportunity to serve all ages, races, religions, income levels, and abilities. The YMCA is much more than just a gym, a pool, or a workout facility - we are a leading non-profit human services organization serving Western North Carolina.
The most important measure of the YMCA is the impact it has on the lives of the people and communities it serves. Together, these diverse groups find a place of welcome and belonging at the YMCA-where we build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Through YMCA programs we become more than a place to go, we are a place to grow. We offer character building programs for every age, shape and ability, and It is our belief that NO ONE should be turned away for their inability to pay. The charitable work of the YMCA is supported in part through contributions to the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign, endowment program, and other contributed income. Our Mission : To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Serving more than 50,000 individuals in Buncombe and McDowell counties of Western North Carolina through 4 branches, 24 after school childcare sites and 200-plus programs throughout the community, the YMCA is the largest child care services provider in Western North Carolina. The YMCA positively impacts people of all ages, races, faiths and economic backgrounds. For more information, please visit www.ymcawnc.org.
